It contains over 200 pre-1940 photos of historic Hancock including over 60 images from the 19th Century. Hancock spent six months on Great Lakes Review's U.P. Bestseller List, peaking at #2. Hidden Gems and Towering Tales: A Hancock, Michigan Anthology co-edited by Laura Mahon and John S. Haeussler was released in April 2013, by the City of Hancock. Conceived, researched, written, edited, designed, printed, and funded by members of the community, it is the City's official sesquicentennial (150th anniversary) publication.
